When I tell you that I was HOOKED on this book… it was insane. I’m not joking, drop everything and do it. I don’t care about what you’re doing right now, you must read this book asap. “No one did anything,” I answered quietly. “Who made you afraid of an open world? An open sky? Was it Venda? Your parents?” I pretended I didn’t know what he was talking about. Even in the dim light, I was able to see the worry in his eyes. ❝ “What did they do to you, Kazi?” His voice was low, earnest. 4★ ੈ✩‧₊˚ ❝ Choose your words carefully, even the words you think, because they become seeds, and seeds become history ❞ ੈ✩‧₊˚ ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() I also didn’t mind because the characters were just so enjoyable! Since it’s not as action packed as some of his later books, ELANTRIS is able to really dig into characters and let their personalities shine! Raoden was truly as personable as he was made out to be and I loved Sarene’s independence and strength. I was “warned” ahead of time that the beginning was a lot of set up and character development and the true action and twists didn’t occur until closer to the end so I was all right waiting for that. At times it felt a bit lengthy and I was anxious for things to get moving but that could also be because I was listening to the audiobook so it did take me significantly longer than if I was reading it in print. I took advantage of an Audible deal that had Brandon Sanderson audiobooks on sale so I picked up ELANTRIS and WARBREAKER (which I also hope to read soon) and decided to start with ELANTRIS since it was Sanderson’s first published novel and it’s a stand alone. Every book I’ve read (and every novella) has been enjoyable and I simply cannot get enough. His books launched me into the world of adult fantasy when I had been reading nearly exclusively young adult and I’ve been on a mission ever since to gobble up the rest of his books. ![]() Ever since I read MISTBORN a couple years ago, I’ve been obsessed with Brandon Sanderson’s writing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After spending his entire night there, he still does not show his emotions when smoking, drinking a cup of coffee, and dozing a bit at the old home. Parachute Infantry is at once harsh and moving, boisterous and tragic, and it stands today as an unsurpassed chronicle of war-how men fight it, survive it, and remember it. Offering a remarkable snapshot of what it was like to enter Germany in the last days of World War II, Webster presents a vivid, varied cast of young paratroopers from all walks of life, and unforgettable glimpses of enemy soldiers and hapless civilians caught up in the melee. ![]() Relying on his own letters home and recollections he penned just after his discharge, Webster gives a firsthand account of life in E Company, 101st Airborne Division, crafting a memoir that resonates with the immediacy of a gripping novel. From the beaches of Normandy to the blood-dimmed battlefields of Holland, here are acts of courage and cowardice, moments of irritating boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror, and pitched urban warfare. ![]() David Kenyon Webster's memoir is a clear-eyed, emotionally charged chronicle of youth, camaraderie, and the chaos of war. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Verity Jane, gifted app whisperer, takes a job as the beta tester for a new product: a digital assistant, accessed through a pair of ordinary-looking glasses. I love every single thing about this series. You think little clues dropped through out the book will go nowhere but he reaches around and wraps them up. He starts something and then he finishes it. He takes secondary characters and gives them "screen time" so that you get the full picture on this storyline like no other author I've read. I'm not going to give away much from the book because it's deliciously twisty and turny. They learn that Kenzie's mentor was the former PI on the case and now he also is missing. The most interesting thing about this book is not the feud or the information presented about feuds. ![]() But, alas, the book is named feud, so we know it's going to be important. The pointers leading to the feud would have been very subtle foreshadowing and would make an almost-twist (and exciting) ending.
